Identified Thief Shot By Red Bank Officers Caught Later
Ollie Wilkinson, alleged to lead a gang of thieves in Middletown Township, was captured after a morning pursuit in Red Bank town. He had twelve white Plymouth Rock chickens stolen from J W Boyce of Middletown Village. Wilkinson was shot in the back during the arrest and faced a hearing at Borough Hall before Recorder Badeau. Police Bray Hewitt and Connors were praised for timely action.

Trolley Car Breaks Wire Delays Red Bank Run
Car No. 29 on the Long Branch Red Bank line broke an electric wire at Rockwell avenue causing a two hour twenty minute delay. Conductor Fred Beale and motorman James Daly led the stalled car until assistance arrived from another crew led by conductor Edward Evans and motorman Thomas Brown. Passengers were transferred to a second car and Red Bank riders reached their destination at 7 PM, delaying the Daily Records delivery but newsboys still delivered papers.
