A fire at Ungerer's theatre in Mamasquan New Jersey last night spread from a tea booth to the building. Firemen fought the flames with three hoses but the theatre and reels valued around 1000 were destroyed. No injuries reported though a panic occurred. The venue, also known as Parker's, was operated by J Louis Ungerer and recently upgraded.
The Supreme Court panel considers the new improvement area later this afternoon with owner representatives A. D. Sherman C. Henry Jim and A. D. Brinley appearing. A number of property owners are the audience as assessments are reviewed.
The 1912 case over painting and repairing beach benches faced a delay as the clerk omitted Isaac Woolley’s name in the summons. Lawyer W L Edwards arranged a new summons to insert Mr Woolley’s name so the case proceeds before Judge Steinbach’s court. A rival claim labeled the bill exorbitant and questioned the commissioners handling since Temi Sowa’s reception. Members of the Long Branch I B and Y C held an anniversary shooting day at Pleasure Bay after noon. Scores across five three sweepstakes and two more events were recorded with Chartes Woolley winning the first event and Buxton Sussman taking the second.
A pardon was granted to Mrs. Edwards, who confessed to killing her husband in 1901. She had faced death for years, but governors delayed execution. She will remain in seclusion in Philadelphia after arrival from Reading.
