James G West longtime local restaurant keeper and fish merchant died at Monmouth Memorial Hospital after an earlier attack of indigestion and heart failure. Born in the city to Elisha and Elizabeth West he lived much of his life in Fulton Market New York and in Pleasure Bay before settling here. He was married three times and survived by two sisters and a brother with funeral services held at St James Church and interment at Greenlawn.

The Phil Daly Hose Company held its twenty-fifth annual ball at the Lyceum last night with broad attendance from townspeople and visiting firemen in uniform. Prof West's seven-piece orchestra opened the program, the grand march led by Mr and Mrs George Van Winkle, and a twenty four number two part program kept the crowd entertained. Over 350 enjoyed a long dinner during intermission, with ample provisions for more. The Dalys, famed as firefighters and generous hosts, showcased hospitality and good humor throughout.

Drunk Huckster Falls From Wagon in Red Bank
David Reevy a Shrewsbury huckster was arrested Monday for intoxication after falling from his wagon on Monmouth Street Red Bank. He was jailed at Town Hall his horse and wagon sent to a local livery. At a Tuesday hearing before Recorder James H Sickles he paid a $2.50 fine and boarded the horse.

Windish Widow of East Coast Gentry Dies at Lakewood
Mrs. Windish wife of Henry Windish longtime coachman for Mrs. George M. Pullman at an Ocean avenue Long Branch estate and later in charge of the Gould estate died at Lakewood yesterday aged 56. The body was moved to Long Branch for burial. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9:30 from Our Lady Star of the Sea Church with burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery. She is survived by her husband and three children.
