Ocean Avenue site purchased by a former owner who held a $22,000 mortgage on the place. Rosoff held a small equity, while Gold held the mortgage balance. The foreclosure sale cleared the property from claim three.
George J. Gold retains possession of the Mansion House property at Ocean avenue and Laird street after sheriff sale at the Imperial Hotel. Only Charles Rosencrans bid against Gold, securing title for 8000 while mortgage and interest total about 22000. Funeral services for Rev. Dr. J. K. Manning will be held Friday in Calvary Baptist Church Trenton with further rites in Red Bank. interment at Fair View Cemetery.
Frank R. Wales of Leonard street Red Bank a Grand Union Tea Co agent was arrested by Constable C Worthley Glover Asbury Park on a $50 embezzlement claim from Frank Gardner Asbury Park baker Justice Theodode F Sniffen summoned and held court late last night in Edward M Haley's store Wales says he is innocent and did not collect the money bonds posted $200 for a hearing before Justice E R Bonsall Asbury Park next Tuesday morning boundsmen were Edward M Haley and J Howard Applegate.
The Record reports a civil case in Atlantic Highlands where Amendo Malone an Italian hunter lost to Borough Clerk Franklin. Judge M L Ferris ruled municipal discretion shields such decisions from liability and Malone must pay costs. Malone had earlier been fined for trespassing with an invalid license and claimed damages from Franklin for issuing the license.
Red Bank Borough Council appointed a committee to confer with J. Trafford Aller about acquiring the riparian rights at the northerly end of Maple avenue. The panel, led by Acting Mayor Horace P. Cook, aims to learn Aller’s price, review the matter, and report next meeting. Support cites public landing benefits for town and shoreline access.
In Trenton on February 19 Senator Slocum said the Ocean Grove borough bill should pass the Senate next week. A conference settled differences on jury reform, backing two member county juries appointed by the Governor to draw all juries. The Governor preferred Supreme Court appointments but was outvoted. The conference also endorsed direct election of U S Senators and ranked choice voting in primaries. The seven sisters antitrust bills are expected to be signed, and the Governor plans to resign effective March 1.
At the annual meeting in Red Bank the First Methodist Sunday school reelected all officers for the coming year. Key posts include Superintendent Robert Hitchings with assistants John E Chamberlain and Miss C Holmes, secretaries John Coombs and Edward La Fetra, treasurer Mrs John Watson, librarians Kelvie Warden and Kenneth Morford, pianist Harry Chamberlain and assistant Beatrice Chamberlain, chorister Harry Lafetta, Primary Superintendent Mrs George Longstreet, librarian Mrs Alonzo Fields, secretary Miss Ethel Hitchings, Home Superintendent Mrs Moses J Johnson. Hitchings notes six years in post. planners consider awards for attendance as Palestine trip contest ends soon. library expansion discussed and possible library social.
The Blind Buick of the East Shrews won the Vreeland twenty four hour pennant yesterday afternoon amid a lively gale. Spud and Fido Second trailed. Big Bill and X. L. withdrew due to mishaps. A second match race saw Big Bill win, Spud second, Blind Buick third before further withdrawals.

Asbury Park Elks plan a four story fireproof home on Cookman avenue costing about 40000 with plans and specs underway.
Work on the new St James Church at Broadway and Slocum Place is sufficiently complete for services with ongoing additions as material arrives. Opening celebrations are set for Sunday February 23 including Holy Eucharist Matins and sermon, choral Eucharist, Sunday school, and choral Evensong with a special music program. The new two manual organ will be used for the first time. Bishop Scarborough will dedicate the building on Easter Wednesday March 26.
Frank C Storck, a Red Bank piano dealer, hired prosecutor John Applegate Jr. for an immediate absolute divorce after a raid on his Kudson avenue residence at 1:30 am. Detectives from Jersey City and local officers found Mrs Storck in the dining room with Otto Knecht and a whiskey bottle showing a recent spree. Continued on Sixth Page.

Ten young men in Sea Bright met Monday night in the Y M C A club room with Sea Bright board representatives to form a local Y M C A branch. They chose officers and set by laws, planned a Wednesday meeting to finalize rules, and agreed to Tuesday and Sunday meetings thereafter. Dues will be paid quarterly, new members by vote, and Nesbitt acts as leader. Officers included President Howard Pritchard and others. aim is a group of twenty to twenty five soon, part of three Sea Bright Y M C A groups totaling about seventy members.
Long Branch bowlers led by Goetheff Dilliche and Bennett faced Red Bank’s Kennedy Voorhees and Emmons in a six game series at Elkwood Recreation alleys Red Bank visitors watched as Long Branch won the first game and Red Bank edged ahead by one pin in game two Dillione led the earlier action with a 199 and 211 while Red Bank tied the series at critical moments in a close competition continuing on page.
