New Era Survivor 116 Years Old At Harlem Home
Hannah Kosokk, a 116 year old survivor of the New Era sinking off Deal Beach in 1854, celebrated with friends at the Home of the Daughters of Israel after a shroud she wore at sea was shown. The Bremen ship carried many whose fate was grim, yet she clung to the sailcloth and survived as 240 passengers perished. Byron Blaisdell II, son of Mr and Mrs Charles T Blaisdell of Norwood Avenue and a Chattle senior, recently recovered from pneumonia and plans to enter Syracuse University in the fall.

August Kolbe dies after long illness in Red Bank
August Kolbe known as Soph dies at his home at Joline and Rockwell after a two year health decline. He was born in Trenton, about 52, survived by widow, son Fred, two sisters Mrs Sarah Marahan and Mrs George Lane, and earlier worked with a hotel. Morris Kasennoff a stage driver, was treated at Monmouth Memorial Hospital with a slight concussion and bruises after a Saturday night wreck in Galilee.
