Fire razed Walter H. Liebmanns handsome cottage on Ocean avenue tonight, with furnishings valued at no less than $30,000. The blaze started on the west side and swept through the structure, threatening neighboring cottages until rain soaked roofs helped prevent spread. Samuel Liebmann’s cottage escaped damage. a downed wire incident injured Laura Slocum and Griffin as firefighters battled the blaze.

Louis Rothenberg retired druggist was found dead in bed at his Broad Street home this morning. A passing servant alerted his daughter Hannah Elting and doctors ruled the death about an hour earlier. He had long frail health and heart disease, retired from business eight years ago, and yesterday spoke of head and heart distress.
