Fire razed Walter H. Liebmanns handsome cottage on Ocean avenue tonight, with furnishings valued at no less than $30,000. The blaze started on the west side and swept through the structure, threatening neighboring cottages until rain soaked roofs helped prevent spread. Samuel Liebmann’s cottage escaped damage. a downed wire incident injured Laura Slocum and Griffin as firefighters battled the blaze.

Louis Rothenberg retired druggist was found dead in bed at his Broad Street home this morning. A passing servant alerted his daughter Hannah Elting and doctors ruled the death about an hour earlier.
