Bazaar at St Luke’s Church Nets Over 860
The Ladies' Aid Society of St Luke's Church held its three day bazaar, closing last night, and realized just over 860. Mrs Charles Morris said the bazaar surpassed last year in business and social success, with the supper table also earning more than before. The event involved advance booth work and occasional entertainments to raise funds. Only once before did they clear more, reaching 1005 when church men assisted. Next year’s bazaar may move earlier to beat December conflicts.

Mrs Hurley Dies after Long Illness at 80 One
Mrs Catherine Hurley widow of Edward Hurley died at 1 10 AM in Monmouth Beach at her daughter Mrs John Van Brunt’s home after a lingering illness. She was 80. Funeral Monday at 10 AM from the house and 2 PM from Asbury Park M E Church. Interment at West Long Branch. She leaves two children Mrs Van Brunt and George Hurley. Also mother of Mrs Joseph Mount who died with typhoid fever eighteen years ago. Services at Presbyterian Church to follow.

Incurables Act Opposed by State Charities and Prison Reform
Trenton reports opposition from the State Charities Aid and the Prison Reform Association to the Incurables Act of 1971. The act would allow annual state funding up to 365 dollars per patient for indigent incurables in institutions, with limited disbursement by the Commissioner of Charities and Corrections.
