Captain Wardell Dies After Ice Boat Fame and Fall
Captain Asher L. Wardell of the Merchants Steamboat Co died at his home after a fall from a motorcycle and brain congestion. He was 42, an ice yachtsman designer and builder, former president of Branchport Hose Company, and survived by his wife, his mother Mrs. Margaret Wardell, and sister Mrs. A J Clark. Funeral services Sunday at 7 p.m. at 311 Branchport Avenue with Rev. Fred B. Harris. Burial by John G. Sexton. posthumous attendance by local clubs and yacht associations.

Freehold Marshal Accidentally Shot in Garage Incident
