War Picked Up On The Street And Jokes Of A Long Branch Night

C Fred Neaves of Girard avenue, active in Masons Odd Fellows and Royal Arcanum, is noted for past grand marshal roles and ongoing lodge work. Irad Lane, former Long Branch resident, belongs to Neaves' Brooklyn Odd Fellow lodge. The night’s West End fire is slated for "movies," Hal Reid, a Highlands resident, is suspected observer. W. S. Parker, beloved voice and social regular, is to be laid to rest tomorrow, his cheery presence mourned. The writer recalls Parker’s baritone and whistling song Way 4 winner, and notes ad revenue from record advertising. The piece ends with a nod to a lost collie returning after a CAW column advertisement.
