Peculiar Motor Accident Injures Horse at Ocean and Cedar

A wagon driver removing debris on Ocean Avenue collided with a touring car near Cedar Street. The horse pulling the wagon was struck, dragged, and injured while the auto was wrecked. Dr. Cattanach treated the horse as bystanders aided two injured women from the car.

Railroad Officials Banquet at Lafayette Hotel Asbury Park

New Jersey Central Railroad officials to hold a banquet at the Lafayette Hotel Asbury Park on a Wednesday evening. John H. Prone proprietor of the View Hotel Sea View Avenue city arrested Saturday night at 8 40 by Detective Captain Walling assisted by Lawrence Mec Cormick of Asbury Park on a warrant charging him with illegal sale of liquor. He gave bond of $600 for a hearing Thursday.

German Violinist Dies Suddenly at Bay Avenue Gathering

German violinist Hans Potchok collapsed during a party at Ernest Kingast’s home in Bay Avenue Highlants after hemorrhage symptoms. Coroner Harry Fay of Red Bank issued burial permit. Speeding motorists fined in police court session

Four motorists were fined for speeding on Ocean and Oceta avenues with penalties from 11 to 315 dollars and costs. One driver faced a small fine for going over twenty miles per hour. A drunk man at the Southern station was given an optional five dollar fine or jail time. A man named Creazzo faced grand jury action for deserting his wife Christine Creazzo since July 8.

Gregorys to Sail for Home Wednesday

City Superintendent and Mrs Christopher Gregory will sail for home on Wednesday and take passage on the steamer York from Liverpool. Miss Jane Walters and Miss Julia Enright of Bee High School faculty will sail with them. Mr and Mrs Gregory were last heard from in Edinburgh Scotland and faced little trouble due to the European war.

Fair Haven Woman Seeks Aid After Husband Separated in Germany

Mrs. H. P. Martin of Fair Haven left her husband in Germany after a train evacuation at Magdeburg on August 1. Separated for months she reached London with a six months old child and learned of the American relief committee. The committee helped her promptly at its London headquarters.

Bank clerk breaks ground for cottages in Long Branch

George H. Harvey of Long Branch Banking Company started construction of a cottage south of Norwood Avenue near Charles H. Morton residence. The project, modeled after Harry Hulick’s Gosy house, is built by Samuel VanHuel with Edward Schoenthaler in charge. The cottage should be ready for occupancy in late October. Also in town Rev.
