Jealous husband shoots wife then kills himself at Allenhurst
In Allenhurst at 308 Corlies avenue Theodore Widdow shot Susan Smith Widdaw three times, then killed himself. The quarrel stemmed from alleged infidelity as Mrs Widdow refused to leave with him for a confrontation at a friend’s home. The wife survived with critical injuries. the husband died instantly. The incident began in the Frazier household kitchen and ended on the front porch.

Hal Reed shoots himself in a Atlantic Highlands studio accident
Hal Reed the playwright and film man was wounded at Frank Reigelman’s home on Washington avenue in Atlantic Highlands yesterday afternoon. He told police the revolver discharged accidentally while he practiced for a movie scene, the bullet grazing the left shoulder near the lungs. Reed went to Monmouth Memorial Hospital but left soon after treatment. Mrs Reigelman and her daughter Margaret corroborated the accident tale.
