Four N Y Demo Leaders Back Harriman for Governor
Four major New York Democratic leaders endorsed Averell Harriman for the party nomination for governor. The move signals party support that could secure a delegate majority despite possible floor battles from Roosevelt backers at the state convention. The endorsement statement, issued from Democratic State Headquarters, was backed by Balch and DeScipio and concurred by Lehman, Wagner, and vacationing in Idaho.
