Miracle drugs shorten years of cure for VA tuberculosis patients
Dr Kenneth M Smith reports that streptomycin PAS and INH have cut hospital stays and reduced relapse, with average TB patients discharged faster when treated with drugs. Early treatment and combination therapy lower relapse to about 10 percent, while surgery remains for nonresponders. A former patient of eighty years was cured after drug treatment.
