Help Requested as Balloon Runs Away From Holloman Base
Holloman Air Development Center issued an appeal to locate a runaway 116 foot diameter high altitude balloon. Launched for upper atmosphere research, it was seen blowing east from Carlsbad at about 3 pm Tuesday at 80,000 feet with sightings from Hobbs. The balloon carries a $25 reward for recovery of its ashilehite, and has an automatic device to deflate at 75,000 feet.
