Meek gunman surrenders after Corvallis murder spree
Martin Reyes, a 23 year old San Francisco man, fled north after a Corvallis holdup in which Jimmy Applegate, 34, was killed. Reyes surrendered Tuesday night at a Monmouth restaurant after police recognized him from gunny sacks worn as a cape. DeMasa, also escaped from jail, was captured after Reyes crashed a car in Corvallis. Reyes, wounded in the arm, faces murder and assault charges. DeMasa awaits additional charges.
