Singer Johnny Johnston embraces wife Shirley after being cleared Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court of a paternity claim by showgirl Bette Bowers. Bowers did not attend the ruling on her resulting expenses suit tied to the birth.
The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis plans a nine million dollar buy of the tested but unproven Salk vaccine for nine million children and pregnant women. Dr Thomas Francis Jr leads the study at University of Michigan. Results expected by spring. Injections to be supplied free once proven effective.
