Soldiers Build Water Line To Save Town In Shortage

In Edina Missouri weary soldiers toiled 54 hours to lay a two mile pine line supplying the town of 1609. Lt Jane Boyles and 156 Army Engineers connected a six inch pipe to a reservoir, as Mayor M Gillaspy praised the effort. The army will maintain the line for two weeks before removing it, while townspeople promised to cover expenses. The town had faced school and hospital closure due to a near dry reservoir and reliance on rough gravel trucks.

Sheriff issues all point alert for suspect Barr alias Gilbauer

Los Angeles sheriff Eugene Biscailuz announced that the Kmiec slaying suspect has been identified through fingerprints as Anthony J. Barr alias Anthony Zilbauer, a former Ohio State Prison inmate. An all points bulletin went to law enforcement to watch for Barr or Gilbauer as Miss McCormick and Dr Ferrin confirmed identifications. The coroner's inquest returned a homicide verdict. Barr's last known address was 5418 Chicago Street, Boyle Heights.

78-Year-Old Man Dies From Scalding Bath

In Cleveland Warrenville workhouse a 78-year-old man named Frank Zonar died after a bath incident. A male nurse left hot water running for about 45 minutes while Zonar, recently released from a three month vagrancy term, was in the tub. He was pronounced dead at City Hospital.
