Truck Driver Strike Nears Zero Hour
AFL Teamsters Western Conference president Frank Brewster of Seattle says drivers will strike Thursday at Consolidated Freight Lines Pacific Motor Transport and Pacific Intermountain Express if a new offer isn’t agreed. Master contract talks cover about 28 000 drivers in 11 western states with current pay around 21 4 dollars per hour. Negotiations began over a month ago and a morning walkout was postponed to 24 hours later as talks continue.
