Union Oil finds coastal sugar well may yield major field
Union Oil reports Union Sugar No. 1 wildcat south of Guadalupe is pumping 105 barrels daily from about 4400 feet with 13.5 degree gravity crude. The discovery lies near a cluster drilled by General Petroleum and lies between Monterey shale and Point Sal sand, suggesting a potential addition to Union’s coastal holdings and a broader La Habra West Coyote play opening for other operators.
