Heroin Habit Cost Led to Holdups, Say Young Pair
ALHAMBRA, May 10, UP. A young mother and father were held today by police who said the couple admitted a series of robberies to finance their 30-a-day narcotics habit. Rob ert Sager, 22, and his 19-year-old wife Joanne were arrested on thefts from parked cars and trucks. Detectives said the pair admitted the robberies because normal employment could not supply enough for heroin. Their one-year-old son, allegedly taken on nightly excursions, was placed with Mrs. Sager's mother for temporary care.
