Slow motion film study boosts farm packing efficiency
At Cornell University slow motion footage used for U S Department of Agriculture research shows how workers perform 18 distinct moves from reaching to placing objects. Analysis reveals tiny hesitations and finger timings, with a notable 40 percent speedup when tilting a packing box for apples. The work, described by Dr Max Brunk and Dr Jack Thompson, aims to improve general mechanical work methods.
