Two Women Die in Moving Truck Toward Santa Rosa
Two members of a Long Beach family died and a third was injured when a furniture moving truck collided with another vehicle near Lodi at 2:30 a.m. The victims were Mrs Jolla Ball 33 and her mother in law Thelma Ball 59 both formerly of Long Beach. Thelma Ball’s son Liddle Lee Ball 36 suffered facial injuries and a broken leg. The driver Pete S Flor 40 of Walnut Grove was in serious condition with concussion and a broken arm. The Balls had lived in Long Beach about five years and were traveling to Santa Rosa to begin new residence agreement with belongings from their former Miramar Avenue home. Kathleen Ball about 19 and Cecile Ball about 14 remained in Santa Rosa. Ball followed with his wife and mother in law to move furniture stored in the former home.

Four of Six on Fishing Trip Drown in Scituate
Four men of a six member fishing party drowned when their 18 foot motorboat capsized in rough water near the mouth of the North River at 2 30 am. Two others survived after battling heavy surf.
