In Muncie Indiana the waterworks capped a leak that had flowed about 400 gallons per hour for 45 years. George Cropper uncovered a tile pierced foundation while excavating for a garage at his rear lot. Neighbors recalled no house on the site since 1905 before the shut off at the curb by waterworks manager Oscar A Newquist.

The high tide crest reached 6.2 feet, lower than Friday’s 7.5 feet when levees broke. King Edward Island the Webb tract remained under 10 feet of water. Owner Charles Floto of Stockton warned topsoil loss could total a million dollars if Army Engineers do not drain the island promptly. No deaths or injuries reported.
