Low Turnout Forecast for Long Beach Municipal Election
Less than 30 percent turnout by 11 a.m. and forecasts of under 50,000 voters selecting the city council and ruling on six measures. Long Beach has 455,430 registered voters with precincts showing about 25 votes per 280 polling places. Only precinct 197 neared 20 percent by 11 a.m. at 437 West Eighth Street, while precinct 170 at 3038 Heather Road, Lakewood, reported 17 of 452 votes. Voting remains light in the early hours.
