Shell reports its TCP additive in Shell Premium Gasoline raises engine power up to 15 percent and extends spark plug life by as much as 150 percent. In its first year the program powered over 8 million engines and is marketed as the greatest fuel development since 1922. Shell Research developed TCP with Continental Oil as licensee.
