Final Witness Borchers Tells Jury Slaying Tale
Borchers testifies in his defense about the shooting of Mary Dorothy McCully near the Rose Bowl area. He describes placing his hand over hers to help as the gun went off and recounts driving to Riverside and a campsite at Lake Henshaw with the victim in the car. He says there was no hate or animosity and insists the gun was in his hands at the moment of the explosion. He also recalls a mock marriage ceremony in Las Vegas and managing McCully’s finances via power of attorney.
