Belief Arsonist Set Four Fires at San Francisco Hotel
Four fires were started in the Sheraton Palace Hotel and one in a nearby parked car Tuesday night, believed to be the work of an arsonist. Firefighters quickly extinguished all five. In the hotel two blazes began in janitors closets with matches tossed into trash bags. A small fire was put out in a waste can on the main floor, and a fourth fire was found in a room being remodeled.

Two Men Held in Hatchet Attack on 14 Year Old Girl
In Clovis New Mexico two men are being held after 14 year old Janice Wells was attacked at home Sunday night. Police heard her screams, she was treated for head and throat wounds and is reported in improved condition. District Attorney Richard Rowley will not file charges until she can identify her attacker in a lineup. No sexual assault was indicated. Police say one suspect has a prior record and the other appeared to have blood on his trousers.
