Tokyo reports North Korea on Red Radio urging Koreans to expand war potential for possible air battles and bombing UN held South Korean territories. Premier Kim Il Sung orders troops to prepare for decisive fighting in a holy liberation campaign as U.S. air commanders warn of growing North Korean air power.
Fifteen thousand Eisenhower supporters packed Madison Square Garden to urge him as the nation’s next president. Supporters from Texas to Brooklyn joined youths and politicians in a late night rally, with crowds spilling onto West Side streets and hours of fervent ovations.
West Hartford Connecticut reports Gen Dwight D Eisenhower won the nations first primary of 1952 with 3109 votes among 13000 Republican registered voters. Senator Robert A Taft trailed with 1183 while Stassen MacArthur Dewey Baruch Dirksen and Lodge also polled. Baruch was a write in.
The Army Signal Corps outfitted a new railroad car with radio teletype telegraph telephone and other communications gear for presidential use. It includes ship to shore radio and picture transmission, links to common lines when parked, a 10 to 12 person crew lounge, and replaces a 1914 baggage car. The car named Gen Albert C Myer may be used by Defense and was remodeled in St Louis at a cost of about 119,354.
A congressional committee reported many Veterans Administration staff accepted gifts and benefits from unscrupulous schools tied to the GI bill. The Teague House panel urged new laws to extend benefits to Korean War veterans and condemned excessive charges and falsified records by some schools.
Auto liability rates rose nationwide with a 100 percent increase on amounts above the basic 3000 to 10000 personal injury coverage. Long Beach brokers estimate over 90 percent of local drivers are affected while the basic rate for non business use over 25 remains 25 dollars. The higher tier costs total about 38.50 for the full 325000 to 530000 coverage, with 13.50 more than the old rate. New rates took effect last Monday.

Strong winds rain and snow struck the eastern United States after wind storms ripped through Indiana Ohio West Virginia Pennsylvania and Maryland. Two people died Masontown Pennsylvania and Star City West Virginia while 17 were injured as a power line and downed lines caused fatalities and hazards overnight.
Singapore February 9 British paratroopers conducted a rain swept jungle raid near the Thailand border. Fifty seven airborne troops participated in the first such operation against suspected Communist forces in years of fighting to curb a propagation move.

Washington February 9 The Air Force cuts its peak monthly aircraft output by 24 percent under President Truman’s defense budget, delaying the 143 aircraft monthly goal until late 1955. Undersecretary Roswell Gilpatric cited canceled machine tool orders as the reason and said peak production drops from 1250 to 950 planes per month.
Boston Irish leaders protest a Japanese export said to imitate shillelaghs harming Eire trade. Senators Lodge and Saxton stall and Rep. McCormack were to be alerted, while Irish groups in Boston decry the imitation as a shamrock copy.

A crude oil loaded barge exploded near Tuscaloosa on the Warrior River killing at least three workers and injuring a fourth.
