Daily News Workers Seek Severance Pay in LA Sale
About 450 Daily News workers in Los Angeles sought severance as the paper suspended publication. The Daily News sold its name and features to Times Mirror, reducing local papers to four. The Mirror will carry 25 syndicated features, and an early edition ran for Daily News subscribers. Severance funds were projected at 800000, with asset audits pending.
