Evelyn Henley a 16 year old clerk at a drug store on Atlantic Avenue chased off a 35 year old robber after he demanded cash and cigarettes. Washington AP reports U S District Judge Richmond Keech ruled the President can remove government workers from civil service protection and summarily fire them. The decision concerned Lao A Roth a Justice Department attorney earning 10800 annually who lost his job last July and argued he could not be dismissed due to civil service status. Keech upheld presidential authority to set civil service admissions and determine which positions are exempt and subject to immediate removal.

Blaze in Baldy Area Still Out of Control
