Army study finds sleep affects training efficiency
The Human Resources Research Office's HumRRO program in collaboration with George Washington University studies 272 Army trainees and finds 92 percent learn less due to sleepiness, with 19 percent sleeping in class and only 2 percent fully alert. The research points to wasted time, poor coordination, and the need to reassess basic training methods including map reading and marksmanship scoring.
