General Exploration Well Gas Tendency Disappoints
General Exploration's new well five miles southwest of Mendota in the Bandini field shows a gas tendency at 6 409 feet in the Buckeye zone, with 249 barrels per day output. The find is considered gasier than previous wells, prompting plans for a wildcat offset near Lagomarcin on the Lagomarcing lease. Monterey Oil Co reports new discoveries offshore west of Newport and a 300 barrel per day Newport No 4 while Tide Water Associated’s Denton wildcat near El Rio is drilled deeper after a dry hole. Western Gulf diversifies with shallow Yorba Linda holes and Chansler Western’s Rincon deep well underperforms, producing about 120 barrels per day.
