Open Door to U S Born Chinese Children Granted Citizenship
In San Francisco two appellate judges ruled that citizenship may be granted to more than 700 children of U S born Chinese parents. Ly Moon aged 17 and Ly Sue Ming aged 15 were among those granted citizenship as the court reversed a district judge who required full proof of parentage. The appellate court said a lighter standard of proof could be applied to those of Chinese descent.
