Denied Chavez Visa for Hollywood Bowl Appearance
The government refused Mexican conductor Carlos Chavez a visa for a guest appearance at the Hollywood Bowl citing ongoing security clearance review. An earlier Portland Symphony engagement visa was canceled for the same reason and no reason was given by officials. The Hollywood Bowl Association confirmed the denial of Aug 24 appearance from the Department.
