Gas in coal mine kills three Iowa boys
Three 14 year old boys, Cerl Hobart Charles Dunham and Mickey Coulter, died Tuesday in a closed coal mine near Interville Iowa from gas known as black damp. The youths were exploring a cave and had left home in the morning. A search was organized after they did not return. Sheriff A G Morlan said the deaths appeared due to suffocating gas.
