Death Case Inquest Hints Probable Guilt
A coroner jury in Los Angeles found 76 year old private patrolman David C. Duncan probably criminally responsible for the Aug 1 fatal shooting of 29 year old Anthony C. Ramirez in Compton. The inquest heard Ramirez blocked the path of a car driven by Mildred Rogers with his wagon. Duncan said he shot Ramirez thinking him a bandit, but witnesses testified Duncan knew both Ramirez and his wife. The shooting occurred about 2 am at Palm and Tamarine Streets.
