Society Matron Slain by Her Best Friend in San Francisco Suburb
Patricia Oberhaus, 36, was shot in the driveway of her Menlo Park home by Doris Gloss, 40, who cried I just shot my best friend. Gloss fled in a Cadillac, later returning and firing into the air before neighbors and police restrained her. Authorities cited a nervous breakdown and recent hospital commitment recommendations.
