Lakewood Council Drafts Budget and Billboard Curbs
Lakewood residents may see a $9716 budget for the balance of the fiscal year ending June 30 funded mainly by business licenses. First reading of the ordinance will occur Tuesday night. The council seeks to ban new billboards unless council approval is given and may curb existing signs. Foster & Kleiser representatives pledged cooperation to limit ads near homes. The meeting also approved a first new subdivision of 521 homes at Studebaker Road and Turnergrove Drive, set conduct rules for council meetings, and joined the California League of Cities.
