Man Repeats Economy Run Win In Mobilgas Rally
Husky Bil Stroppe of Long Beach California won his second Mobilgas Economy Run sweepstakes in Sun Valley Idaho. His Mercury Monterey averaged 25.4 mpg over 1415 miles in three days from Los Angeles to Sun Valley. The field averaged 22.0 mpg at 40.85 mph. Stroppe’s overall three day average was 59.71 mph. Awards were based on mileage and weight classes.

In Ferrara Italy police hunted a 45 year old wart faced man after the 13 year old Franca Nagliati was found slain near a highway embankment. The victim was choked throat cut and blood sucked from the jugular as a group of boys reported seeing a man matching the description on Easter Sunday.

Cattle Show in Tulsa and Flood Aid Plans Anounced
The American Aberdeen-Angus Association set the National Aberdeen-Angus show in Tulsa Oklahoma from October 3 to 9 with over 400 entries and 310000 in prizes. The government promised scarce materials for flood victims with priority allocations and an on the spot study by the NPA led by Harry Ketchum to expedite relief. Henry Fowler said materials would be diverted from normal channels to distressed areas and immediate attention would be given to rebuilding efforts.
