Pack 103 at Lompoc Junior High held muscle building activities under Webelos Leader Sam Ledgerwood. Webelos Den 1 earned best performing den. top finishers in back push included Cubs Michael Cairns and Tony Fiantago, with Frank Johnston and Bruce Reed close behind.

PTAs plan drive for memberships

The California State PTA adopts the theme Every Child Needs You All Year Long for October membership enrollment. Miss Jean Stapleton of All in the Family will be Honorary Membership Chairman for 1974 75 and urges parents and citizens to join through local schools as part of a year round effort led by Mrs. Stanley Solomon.

Girls Club expands aid for nutrition and gymnastics programs

The Girls Club of Lompoc Valley gains support for a nutrition course led by Mary Ann Costa for girls nine to nineteen not in 4-H and a gymnastics class led by Laurie Morrow. Costa, recent regional 4-H dress judging winner, collaborates with 4-H Affirmative Action. Morrow works via the Allan Hancock work-study program. Ballet Folklorico Mexicano at Allan Hancock College

The Ballet Folklorico Mexicano will perform at Allan Hancock College on Friday Oct 4 at 8 p.m. Graciela Tapia directs and choreographs the group which represented Mexico at Expo 74. Tickets range 3.50 general 2.50 student with season passes 8 general 5 student.

Local 4-H Week Observed With New Club Forming

California 4-H marks National Club Week October 6 to 12 with public programs, radio features, and displays. In Santa Barbara County a new Hilltop 4-Hers club forms in Vandenberg Village under leaders Mrs. Mike Shannon and seniors, naming the group and electing officers. The couple’s daughter Cynthia Carmen is set to marry Steven Haacke in January. both are Cabrillo High School graduates with college plans and work at local institutions.
