Solvang directors urge Santa Barbara Transportation to approve paving the entire alley between Second Street and Atterdag Road, as west end owners plan paving next to their property and southern Atterdag extension is improved. SMID notes heavy alley use and joint county project potential.
Santa Barbara County Airport Committee in a Tuesday session debated adding ramps and hangars at Santa Ynez Valley and Lompoc airports including a renewed Santa Ynez ramp project. A motion sought emergency mid year funding from the Board of Supervisors to cover needed improvements.
Charles Greenwald and Arne Hansen received plaques as co chairmen of Solvang Danish Days, presented by Jack Larsen of the Solvang Business Association. Larsen called the event highly successful, denied plans for an end to Danish Days, and said preparations for a 1978 celebration would begin. Representatives of two security patrols proposed operations in Solvang and nearby areas.
The Solvang District audits for the year ending June 30 1977 were approved at the SMID board meeting held last week. District Auditor Mark Sauer reported a working capital increase and praised the financial condition and books kept by JoAnn Warning. Directors asked to extend depreciation accounting from enterprise functions to non enterprise functions like fire equipment for a fuller district financial view.
