Vandal damages bank window. car wash benefits students

Police report a rock smashed a $200 plate glass window at Mission Federal Savings on North H Street between 6 and 11 30 p.m. The Anahuac Club will hold a 95 cent car wash at Hand College Arco Service Station tomorrow. Paul Edgar Best, son of Mr and Mrs Guy C Best, is a first year student at Dallas Theological Seminary drawing students from 41 states 10 foreign countries and 219 colleges. Nurses Coordinating Council of Santa Barbara County will host a behavior modification program for RNs and LVNs October 2 7 30 to 9 30 p.m. at the Santa Barbara Health Department with Frank Schlosser conducting. reservations to Theo Openshaw.

Never Too Late opens at Lompoc Civic Auditorium

LCT production opens tonight at 8 30 pm in Lompoc with David Colbert as Harry Lambert and Kay LaRue as Ediy Lambert. The Broadway comedy runs for several weekends through Oct 13 with curtain at 8 30 pm and tickets from local outlets.

Local Obituaries: Leonard Corser Bard Aguilar Rites Set

Funeral services are planned for Virgil R. Leonard 61 at McPeek Chapel with full military honors at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Carole Jean Corser 32 will have private memorials in Santa Monica. Graveside rites for Karen Lee Bard 29 at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Mass for Timothy Aguilar Jr. 8 months at Las Purisima Church with interment follows. Leonard survived by Helen and two brothers. Corser mother Dorothy Thompson. Bard husband and family unnamed. Aguilar family unnamed. Leonard served 20 years U S Army and worked at Vandenberg. Corser was ITT key punch operator. Bard died at home. Aguilar moved from Lompoc.

Community Friends program to restart in Lompoc

The Community Friends training program at the Lompoc Mental Health Association resumes with three Tuesday sessions starting Oct 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Association House. UFW and Teamsters End California Labor Feud

The United Farm Workers of America and the Teamsters agreed to end a 10 year dispute over representation of California harvest workers in the salad bowl. Cesar Chavez helped cement the pact during a Washington visit as AFL CIO and Teamsters leaders negotiated the terms.
