North Vietnamese Launch Heavy Offensive Near Krek Cambodia
UPI reports nearly two NVA divisions pressed a major assault on South Vietnamese units in Cambodia around Krek, cutting Highway 22 and threatening to drive them out. General Nguyen Xuang Tinh said the fighting injures supply lines and surpasses the Snuol campaign in scale.

Three sought in armed robbery of theater
Sheriff's detectives pursue three male suspects in an armed robbery at Valley Drive-in Theater and the mauling of box office worker Rita Meeker. Two gunmen took $85 from Meeker. a third used a club on Meeker and fellow employee Lary Linkious, who suffered a scalp wound and was treated at Lompoc Hospital. Authorities sealed riverbottom exits as the suspects fled toward the Santa Ynez River bottom.
