School employee injured in canyon crash in Lompoc area

A school district plumber, 40, and a city lighting worker, 49, were injured when their car plunged 175 feet into a canyon. Rescuers pulled them to safety eight hours after the crash as CHP and fire units reached the scene midday yesterday. Both men were treated at Lompoc Hospital with serious but improving condition.
