Gas company presents LNG view at Lompoc energy forum
Southern California Gas Company manager O P Chase and former supervisor Francis Beattie spoke to the Lompoc Valley Republican Club on LNG as the fix for California’s looming gas shortages into the 1980s. Chase touted LNG ports, SB 1081 passage, and three site options, noting Point Conception as the only qualifying port under SB 1081. Beattie defended utilities against broad attacks, urging a balanced view of utility ownership.
