State Lands hearing on offshore drilling moved to UCSB venue
The State Lands Commission announced a public hearing on resuming offshore drilling in the Santa Barbara Channel will start at 10 am on Saturday September 21 in Room 1910 Ellison Building UC Santa Barbara. Public comment will be taken on the draft environmental impact report for the South Ellwood field. Copies are available at commission offices in Santa Barbara Long Beach Huntington Beach and Sacramento.

Weekend police crime reports show a burglar removing louvered window glass to enter Gemini Theater Corp and Collins Construction Co at 1012 A North H Street and Hair Em and Gift Shoppe at 1018 North H Street. A later entry to PSI Systems at 1012-G North H Street used a roof vent with no clear theft. The spree mirrors last July’s three louvered window burglaries including Lompoc City Hall. no arrests reported.
