Yule chess tournament announced by The Record

The Record announces the fourth annual all school Christmas Chess Tournament for students from elementary to senior year. Regions include Lompoc Valley and Buellton Solvang Santa Ynez Los Olivos and Los Alamos with underwritten costs and prizes. Perpetual trophies go to winning junior and senior high schools and the elementary school with most entries.

Mae E Eatmon Obituary Lompoc Resident Die

Funeral services are set for Monday at 2 p.m. at Lompoc Church of Christ for Mae E Eatmon 47 who died this morning in Cottage Hospital Santa Barbara. Interment follows at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. She was born in 1926 in Tennessee and lived in Lompoc 16 years. She taught with Lompoc Unified School District and belonged to the Democratic and Community Womens Clubs and the American Association of University Women. She is survived by husband Hubert, son Richard, eight brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. Starbuck Mortuary will receive visitors until 8 p.m. Sunday and until noon Monday.

Lompoc Adult School Set to Open Next Tuesday

Lompoc Adult School will open next Tuesday at Lompoc High School with courses ranging from auto engine work and aviation ground school to art, home craft, and physical fitness. Registration is at 7 p.m. in classrooms. courses include two women’s fitness classes and two men’s fitness options.
