Commercial Buildings Lead Lompoc Construction Surge in August

Lompoc sees $606000 in commercial construction in August with plans for over 1 million dollars in apartments and units this month. The fiscal year total reaches $878,619 and calendar year total $2.166 million, with expansions at Plaza Shopping Center First Valley Bank a liquor store and Linden's Furniture warehouse. Enrollment reached 11,657 in Lompoc Unified classrooms yesterday, down over 600 from the third day a year earlier. Officials had projected 12,368 for January and Assistant Superintendent Alice Milligan forecast about 11,850 by September 12.
