Cropduster saved after plane crashes near Lompoc
A veteran cropduster was pulled unconscious from his burning light plane after a crash near the 13th Street Bridge west of Lompoc. Willard Russell Walker, an employee of R and S Dropdusters of Santa Maria, was in critical condition at Vandenberg AFB Hospital. Witnesses aided him as the aircraft burned, with the engine area catching fire and the craft destroyed shortly after. Weather and tides are noted for the area.
