Idaho lookout keeps watch over Hughes Ridge fire risk
Janelle Peek a biology major from South Dakota State University spent June 29 to August 25 as a U S Forest Service lookout on Hughes Ridge Northern Idaho. From the 4200 foot peak she could see Canada Washington and Montana and monitored fire danger while living at the tower with long treks for water and supplies.
